The days are shorter and the weather is getting colder, so our thoughts turn to a good bowl of chili.  “We’re providing Alka-Seltzer, Rolaids and Beano,” says event host and self-proclaimed chili master Dale Amundsen.  “Just bring an appetite.”

Susie Burdick has been elected as Chair of the National Association of Speech and Hearing Centers.  In addition, Burdick is the CEO of the Hearing, Speech & Deafness Center, Vice Chair of the Governor’s Committee on Disability Issues and Employment, a member of the Rotary Club of Seattle, and on the Board of Directors for the Executive Alliance.

Performing Arts Center Eastside (PACE) announces a Group Gift Campaign underway within the Indian community to raise $1 million for PACE by summer 2009.  According to PACE Director Alka Badshah, one of the Co-Chairs for the Indian Community Eastside (ICE) Group Gift Committee, people of Indian heritage on the Eastside are involved in all aspects of community-building, including business, arts, and education, where they are key contributors to the quality of life in our region.  The ICE Group Gift for PACE will allow people of Indian origin to collectively dedicate and name a space at PACE that demonstrates their commitment to the future of the broader Eastside community.
